Litigation & Enforcement

Litigation, Enforcement of Judgments, and Appeals in Jeddah

Litigation is representing you before the competent court from the statement of claim to the final judgment. Enforcement is turning a judgment or an enforceable instrument into an actual right, through the Enforcement Court and the enforcement application on Najiz. We provide both routes in Jeddah through Ahmed Al Shatiri, a lawyer licensed by the Ministry of Justice.

A judgment that is not enforced is a piece of paper, and a weak statement of claim loses before the first hearing. We take the file from the first memorandum to the last enforcement step.

Scope of Service

What We Handle

StageWhat we do
Before the claimAssessing the position, gathering documents, and sending a notice or settling where that serves you better
The claimPreparing the statement of claim, pleadings, and memoranda, and attending before the General, Commercial, or Labor Court
AppealThe appeal memorandum, cassation, and petition for reconsideration where the statutory grounds exist
EnforcementThe enforcement application on Najiz, following the Enforcement Court procedures, and enforcement disputes
Enforcement against youRepresenting the judgment debtor in enforcement disputes and challenges to enforcement decisions

What We Commit To

We tell you the statutory deadlines for appeal and enforcement in writing, because missing them forfeits the right. We do not promise a timescale for enforcement; we explain what is usual and what lengthens it — an absent judgment debtor, or no visible assets.

We also commit to telling you when a case should not be filed at all. If the right is weakly evidenced or the debtor is apparently without means, honesty is to say so before you pay fees and costs to no purpose.

The New Enforcement Law and When It Takes Effect

The new Enforcement Law was issued by Royal Decree No. (M/237) dated 03/11/1447H. It comes into force 180 days after its publication in the Official Gazette, corresponding to 28 October 2026.

Until that date, enforcement procedures remain governed by the Enforcement Law currently in force, and we do not base any step on the new law before it takes effect. We will update this page when it comes into force.

Why Enforcement Sometimes Fails

Three things most often stall enforcement: an instrument that does not meet the conditions of an enforceable instrument, inaccurate details for the judgment debtor, and no visible assets to attach. So we start by examining the instrument itself before filing, then follow the enforcement judge’s decisions and the asset-disclosure and attachment procedures, and explain honestly what may lengthen the process — without promises.

How the Fee Is Set

The fee is set after reviewing the case file and defining the scope of work. Court and government costs, where they apply, are stated separately with their source.

FAQ

Common Questions About Litigation and Enforcement

The Enforcement Law sets out exhaustively what counts as an enforceable instrument, foremost final judicial judgments and decisions, alongside other instruments the law specifies. We check that your instrument meets that description before filing the enforcement application, because an application that does not meet the conditions is rejected and wastes your time.

It is filed electronically through the Najiz platform by entering the details of the instrument and the judgment debtor. The platform allows you to verify the application, query it, and reactivate it after the grace period ends. We prepare the application and follow the enforcement judge’s decisions.

An appeal is an ordinary challenge to a judgment, within a set period, before the Court of Appeal. A petition for reconsideration is an extraordinary route accepted only on exhaustively specified grounds, such as a decisive document coming to light or forgery being established. Choosing the wrong route costs both time and the right itself.

Enforcing administrative judgments follows its own route through the Board of Grievances, and we handle that within our administrative disputes service. Ordinary judgments against entities are enforced through the Enforcement Court under special procedures that we explain to you.
