Criminal Defense and Representation in Investigation and Trial in Jeddah
Criminal defense means representing the accused from the initial inquiry and investigation through trial and appeal, and ensuring the rights granted by the Law of Criminal Procedure are applied — among them the right to a lawyer and to have him present during the investigation. We provide this service in Jeddah through Ahmed Al Shatiri, a lawyer licensed by the Ministry of Justice.
In a criminal case, the first hours of the investigation shape much of what follows. We attend with you from the investigation, review the inquiry records, and build the defense on the law and the evidence rather than on promises.
- Attendance at the Public Prosecution investigation
- Defense before the Criminal Court in Jeddah
- Appeals filed within the statutory deadlines
How a Criminal Case Runs
- Inquiry and arrest
- Investigation by the Public Prosecution
- Trial before the Criminal Court
- Appeal before the Court of Appeal
- Enforcement and the private claim

| Trial | Criminal Court | The defense memorandum, examining evidence and witnesses, procedural and substantive pleas |
| Appeal | Court of Appeal / Supreme Court | The appeal memorandum within its deadline, and cassation where grounds exist |
| Enforcement and the private claim | Enforcement Court | Following through on compensation for the victim or settling the private claim |
What We Commit To
We do not promise an outcome and we do not talk about “success rates”. We explain the procedural position honestly: what has been established and what has not, and what the law allows at each stage. Confidentiality is complete, and you deal directly with the lawyer handling the case.
We also commit to something many overlook: time. Every step in a criminal case has a deadline, from challenging a detention order to the appeal memorandum, and we record those deadlines in writing from the first meeting so that no right is lost over a single day.

Attending the Investigation
From the earliest possible session, because what is recorded there stays in the file.
Defense Memoranda
Examining evidence and witnesses and raising procedural and substantive pleas before the court.
Keeping to Deadlines
Appeal deadlines recorded in writing from the first meeting.
How the Fee Is Set
The fee is set after reviewing the case file and defining the scope of work. We do not agree contingency fees in criminal matters. After reviewing the file we send a written proposal setting out the scope, its stages, and the fee for each stage, and no work starts before the fee agreement is signed. In a criminal case in particular we set out what the defense lawyer does at each stage, so you know what you are paying for.

What to Bring, and What to Do If Someone Is Detained
The more complete this information, the faster we can set the route.
The case or report number and the body handling it.
Any records, decisions, or memoranda you have received, and their dates.
The names of any witnesses and how to reach them.
Relevant documents, messages, or recordings, exactly as they are and unedited.
If you or a relative are detained now: call us immediately on +966 55 314 0750 and tell us where the detainee is held and the charge if known. The detainee should not sign any statement before his lawyer is present, where the law allows him that. We move at once to request attendance at the investigation and to review what the law permits.
Common Questions About Criminal Defense
Does the accused have the right to a lawyer during the investigation?
Yes. The Law of Criminal Procedure gives the accused the right to be assisted by an agent or a lawyer at both the investigation and the trial stages. We make a point of attending from the earliest possible investigation session, because what is recorded there stays in the file.
Can there be release on bail during the investigation?
The investigator or the competent body decides on releasing a detainee on a guarantee or bail in the cases the law permits and according to the nature of the charge. We file a reasoned application with the available guarantees, and no one can undertake that it will be granted.
How long is the deadline to appeal a criminal judgment?
The procedural law sets the period for appealing criminal judgments and how it is calculated — from the date the copy of the judgment is received or from notification, depending on the case. We do not state a general figure here because the calculation differs by type of judgment and circumstances of notification; we set the deadline out in writing in your file, because missing it forfeits the right.
Do you handle private claims for victims?
Yes. We represent victims in the private claim and in claims for compensation before the Criminal Court, and we follow through on enforcement of what is awarded.
