Frequently Asked Questions About Notarization in Jeddah
What is the difference between a Private Notary and a Notary Public?
A Notary Public is a government employee working at the Ministry of Justice’s Notary Public offices, whereas a licensed Private Notary is a lawyer or specialist licensed by the Ministry of Justice to provide the same notarization services from their own office. Both notarize transactions via the Najiz platform, and the transactions are recorded in the same official registers. Read the full comparison
Does electronic notarization carry the same evidentiary weight?
Yes. A power of attorney or acknowledgment notarized electronically through the Ministry of Justice platform is recorded in the same official registers and can be verified instantly through the Verify Power of Attorney service.
How long does a notarization transaction take?
Most notarization transactions are completed in a single session once the documents are complete. Drafting and review may take an additional day depending on the complexity of the transaction.
